Problem of the Week
Gordon Greenthumbs grows huge plants. He grew zucchini that started out 6 inches and then grew 9 inches on the second day. Each day the zucchini grew by the same amount as the day before plus another 3 inches. On which day would the zucchini be LONGER than 11 ft? Show work!

Directions: On lined paper, write up to
four original
word problems. Each one must use a
different operation in the equation (add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Write the equation needed to solve it. Show all you work in solving the
equation. Label and circle your answer.
Grading: Two points for each problem

point for the word problem and equation matching

point for showing work and the correct answer

Benchmark Alert!
It is time for the second nine weeks benchmark. The multiple choice portion will be on Tuesday, January 15th and the Open-Ended Response will be on Wednesday, January 16th. The multiple choice is worth 30 points, and the open-ended is worth 4 points. This will count towards the second nine weeks grade. A study guide will be given this Friday.
